Lachlan Townend

Physiotherapist & Pain Coach

Professional Bio

Lachlan Townend graduated from a double degree in a Bachelor of Exercise Science and Master of Physiotherapy at Griffith University in 2018. Since graduating, Lachlan has worked in private practice helping individuals with musculoskeletal pain and injury.

Lachlan believes his mission is to relieve the suffering of people in pain.
This has led him to complete post graduate studies in pain science so that he can deepen his understanding of pain and enhance his ability to help people suffering with persistent pain.

Lachlan believes that the role of a manual therapist is similar to a coach rather than a healer – to educate, strategise, plan, inspire and encourage.

Lachlan is committed to empowering people with persistent pain to reclaim what pain has taken from them. Lachlan strives to foster hope, resilience and healing in the lives of those he serves.

Presentation Topic
The creative power of words

As a manual therapist it is reasonable to think your hands are your most powerful tool. In this presentation, Lachlan will use the discoveries of modern pain science to present his belief that our words wield more power than our hands. He will explain the creative potential of our words and challenge us to use our words to encourage recovery in our patients.
